Ahead of the EUROs, Spain were handed a shock home defeat by Georgia.

Spain are considered strong favorites to retain their crown and Vicente Del Bosque’s side will want to forget about the embarrassing result.

Thiago came close to giving the hosts the lead just before half-time but was denied by the goal-post.

Georgian midfielder Tornike Okriashvili put his team ahead in the 39th minute after a defensive error from Jordi Alba.

Speaking to the media in the post match press-confrence Del Bosque said ‘We have an extraordinary challenge ahead of us, We can’t let this result affect us.’

‘They didn’t give us any space,’ Del Bosque said. ‘With Iniesta we cleared some lines and understood the game a little better. We lacked the final scoring touch.’
