A dismal EURO 2016 campaign has finally ended for Russia as they were knocked out of the competition after defeat at the hands of Wales in their last Group game at the Stadium de Toulouse in Toulouse on Tuesday.
Wales took the lead in the 11th minute after Aaron Ramsey found the back of the net.
Russia looked out-of place through-out the game as they kept chasing the game but failed to come close to Wales box.
Wales doubled their lead in the 20th minute when Neil Taylor’s left footed shot from the centre of the box found the bottom left corner of the net.
Wales dominated the game and gave very little chance to Russia to make any move, and the Welsh controlled the game at their will.
The second half also saw Russia lagging behind and trying to catch Wales in the game.
Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale scored in the 67th minute to make the score 3-0 in favor of Wales, this was also Bale’s 3rd consecutive goal in three games.
Russia has had a tournament to forget, losing 2 games and only managing a 1-1 draw with England in the opening game, thanks to a late equalizer.
