Croatia lock horns with Portugal in the round of 16 of Euro 2016 at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Lens on Sunday.
Portugal qualified for the knockout stages with a 3-3 draw against Hungary in their last group game as they managed just 3 points in 3 games.
Croatia, meanwhile are having a dream run in the tournament, which started with a win over Turkey and continued with a shocking win over defending champions Spain.
Luka Modric could return to the Croatia first-team on Saturday after missing his side’s victory over Spain, whereas Portugal are sweating on the fitness of midfielder Andre Gomes and full back Raphael Gurreiro, and both are big doubts for Saturday’s knockout tie.
Portugal are lucky to have qualified, after a lackluster defensive performance against Hungary, who by all means should have scored more goals, but the Portuguese can take peace with the fact that their star-man Cristiano Ronaldo seems to have finally found form as the Real Madrid superstar scored twice against Hungary, becoming the first player to score in 4 Euro finals.
However, the Crots seem to be unstoppable, as they beat Group D favorites Spain 2-1 in the final match, even after playing with fringe players.
