Arsenal Boss Arsene Wenger Admits Gunners ARE Considering Selling Mesut Ozil In January

Published on:

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Arsenal could offload Mesut Ozil in January.

But the German playmaker Mesut Ozil could also end up signing a £250,000-a-week new contract with Arsenal, according to reports.

Mesut Ozil is yet to commit his future to Arsenal

Ozil has entered the final year of his current contract with the Gunners and looks destined to leave the North London club as free agent at the end of the season.

The Arsenal hierarchy wants to tie down their star player and have already offered him a £250,000-a-week new deal but the former Real Madrid player has turned down the offer as he eyes a wage-packet in the region of £330,000-a-week.

Ozil has been heavily linked with moves to Manchester United, Inter Milan and Besiktas.

But now, The Sun claim that no club are willing to match his mammoth wage demands even though he becomes a free agent at the end of the season.

Reports claim that Wenger wants to tie down his star player and is holding negotiations with the German’s representatives.

And with no club ready to match Ozil’s wage demands, the former Real Madrid player and his representatives might be forced to accept Arsenal’s existing offer worth £250,000-a-week.

But Wenger has now started weighing up the player’s value.

And if Wenger fails to convince Ozil to sign a new deal by the end of the year, he will offload the German star for around £20million in the January transfer window.

On the possibilty of Arsenal selling Ozil, Wenger said: “We have envisaged every solution, it is possible we might sell in January.”
