Chelsea stopper Thibaut Courtois was photographed outside the famous Mayfair nightspot drama at around 1am on Friday night, but the Belgian’s close friends insist that he was not in any trouble.
It was reported that the 24-year-old was involved in trouble with the Bouncers and that cops had been called, but a friend of the Chelsea goalkeeper said, “This story is nonsense. Thibaut and his friends had not even been to Drama nightclub or been involved in any heated exchanges with their bouncers. He had been enjoying some downtime in another venue nearby.”
“As they were waiting to take a taxi home, Courtois enjoyed a friendly chat with local police officers who were doing their usual evening rounds.”
“They were obviously Chelsea fans and had spotted Thibaut so they were keen to ask him about life at the club and playing under Antonio Conte.”
“Some of Drama’s staff, who many of the players know from previous visits, then joined in the conversation. There’s nothing more to it than that.”
Thibaut Courtois was rested by boss Antonio Conte for Sunday clash against Brentford as Chelsea cruised to a 4-0 win.
Willian, Pedro, Ivanovic and Batshuayi were all on the scoring sheet as the Blues dominated the game.
Courtois has made 22 appearances so far this season and has kept 13 clean-sheets.
