Dani Alves To Leave Barcelona By The End Of June

FC Barcelona footballer Dani Alves looks to be on his way out of the club when his contract expires at the end of June.

The 32-year-old, who joined Barcelona from Sevilla in 2008 has been a key component of the club’s triumphs in recent seasons but has so far not agreed to extend his current deal to remain at Camp Nou, reports Xinhua.

His sister said two months ago that negotiations over the new deal had broken down and speaking on Monday, just two days after his club was presented the La Liga title and ahead of the forthcoming King’s Cup and Champions League finals, Alves insisted he and Barcelona were a long way from reaching an agreement.

He added that “one foot, my head and half of my body outside of the club where I have spent the last seven years”.

The defender showed himself to be angry with a club which “six months ago didn’t want to extend my contract but then after the FIFA sanction which stopped them making signings, announced they wanted to renew my deal”.

“I would like to stay at Barcelona, but not at any price. There has to be some respect and if they don’t I will look for somewhere where they will respect me,” fumed the right-back.
