Mourinho Tells Man Utd Bosses To Break World Transfer Record For Harry Kane And Not Cristiano Ronaldo

Published on:

Jose Mourinho wants Manchester United to break the bank for £100million Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane and give up the chase for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese boss has accentuated that he would like to launch a tempting move for roping in Harry Kane rather than trying to bring back Ronaldo to Old Trafford.

The Los Blancos superstar has been linked with a move back to Man Utd since he expressed his desire to leave Spain after getting involved in a tax fraud case and the Red Devils executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward was keen on plotting a £100m-plus offer for the four-time Ballon d’Or winner.

However, it is now believed that Ronaldo will stay put at Real Madrid, and Mourinho has requested the Red Devils hierarchy to make Spurs a tempting offer that they cannot reject for long-time target Kane – and also to finalise a £60m deal with Real Madrid for Spanish striker Alvaro Morata.

Spurs have made it clear that they will not listen to any offers for their most prized asset – but a whooping £100m offer would definitely force chairman Daniel Levy to give it a second thought.

Sources reveal that Mourinho is very fond of Kane and wants the United boss to do whatever it takes to land the English striker at Old Trafford.

Mourinho believes that the Red Devils would reap more benefits if he could pair English star Kane and Morata up front rather than bringing in Ronaldo, who is now at the fag end of his career.

Mourinho desperately wants to challenge for the Premier League title next season and they will also battle in the European circuit. And he is also eyeing to complete a deal for Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic. Sources also reveal that a reunion with Blues defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic is also on his mind.
