Pogba Dedicates Europa League Success To Victims Of Manchester Terror Attack

Red Devils’ world record signing Paul Pogba dedicated Manchester United’s emotional Europa League triumph to the victims of Monday’s terror attack.

Manchester United silenced their critics after clinching the Europa League title with a dominant 2-0 win over Ajax in the final played at the Friends Arena in Stockholm Sweden.

The Red Devils were favourites for the clash, but Ajax had shown tremendous resilient to reach the final – but ultimately Jose Mourinho’s masterclass was too much for the Dutch giants.

United gained the lead in the 18th minute when Paul Pogba found the net in the 18th minute.

Despite making number of efforts in the latter part of the first-half the Eredivisie side never really threatened United’s defense as they failed to make a come-back.

In the second-half Henrikh Mkhitaryan doubled the Red Devils lead just three minutes after the game restarted.

Man Utd’s European triumph came just two days after the terror attack that killed 22 people at Manchester Arena and Pogba accentuated that his team wanted to lift the Europa League title to honour the victims.

Pogba said: “These things are terrible all over the world, in London and in Paris.”

“We went out focused to win and we won for Manchester and the country.”

Man Utd struggled in the Premier League and had to be happy with a sixth place finish this season but the Europa League title saw them lifting the third trophy this term after already winning the Community Shield and the EFL Cup crown.

And Pogba believes that Man Utd have answered their critics by sealing Champions League qualification.

Pogba added: “We did it. We are very proud. Nobody can talk.”

“They said we had a bad season but we have three trophies.”

“The start was important and after the goals we controlled the game.”

“It was a great performance from everybody in the team.”
