Demba Ba And Michy Batshuayi Emerge As Key Targets For West Ham

West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan is looking to bring back Demba Ba to the club, with Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi also a target.

The Shanghai Shenhua striker has still not fully recovered from a gruesome broken leg he suffered last year.

“We looked to bring Demba Ba back in this window,” explained Mr Sullivan.

“But were were told he was three weeks from playing after recovering from his injury.”

“This is a really bad injury but I know I can overcome it. I won’t call time on my career, that’s for sure,” Ba told from his hospital bed in Shanghai.

“They haven’t done the full operation because I told them to wait.”

“I wanted to go to Europe to have it done.”

“But when I learned that was not possible I arranged with the doctor here to sort me out a French surgeon who should arrive shortly.”

“He will operate on me.”

Michy BatshuayiMeanwhile, the Hammers are also plotting a loan deal for unsettled Chelsea star Michy Batshuayi. The Belgian has failed to establish himself in Antonio Conte’s regular first team this campaign.

West Ham are keen to splash Dimitri Payet’s funds as they look to bolster their attacking options in the final half of the Premier League season.
