Liverpool Flop Balotelli Joins Nice On A Permanent Free Transfer

balotelliOut-of-favour Liverpool Striker Mario Balotelli has finally joined OGC Nice on a free transfer. The Italian striker was earlier linked with a loan move to the Italian club, but the club have permanently purchased Balotelli, without spending a penny.

It is believed that Balotelli will start training with the Nice squad on Thurday and will be unveiled to the media on Friday.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivère said:  “We are very pleased to welcome Mario,”

“We hope that at Nice, in a family atmosphere, he will find enjoyment in the game.”

“We know him and us, that nothing will be easy but with the desire and, hopefully, the support of all our fans, we will allow him to flourish and bring his talent to the service of the ‘team,” he added.

balotelliEarlier, Liverpool had made it clear that Balotelli does not fit in their plans for the on-going season. Klopp had insisted that Balotelli has the potential to revamp his career in the future but he made it clear that his future is not in Anfield.

The Italian striker failed to match the standards at Liverpool and scored only 4 goals in 28 appearances during his single season at the club.

An official Liverpool statement read: “Everybody at Liverpool FC wishes Mario the best of luck in his future career.”
