Liverpool Keen On Sending Sakho Out On Loan As Injury Recovery Continues

Published on:

SakhoLiverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen on finding a potential suitor for centre-back Mamadou Sakho as he wants to send him away on loan before the summer transfer window closes. It is believed that the German manager wants the defender to improve his fitness after being down with suspension and injury.

The defender made his last appearance for Liverpool in April as he was suspended due to a provisional doping ban, followed by a recent tendon injury that will keep him out of the start of Liverpool’s Premier League campaign this season.

Sakho resumed training on Monday, but it is believed that he could be sent out on loan this summer. However doubts still remain over his long-term future at the club after his name came up in the doping incident, despite UEFA dismissing the case later.

Sakho 2The initial ban on Sakho was not extended after UEFA made a further investigation and dismissed the case over the summer. However, not abiding by a number of club’s disciplinary rules didn’t go down well with the higher authorities and he was prematurely sent back home from the squad’s pre-season tour at the United States. Klopp insisted on sending him back with clear instructions of improving his overall fitness.

Klopp has already roped in Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan this summer to bolster his defence. Dejan Lovren and Sakho are still at the club after Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure was shown the exit.

Joel Matip LivrpoolFootball Pundits believe that new man Matip has all the potential to fill in the void after Sakho’s loan move. They also insist that the anticipated loan move would prove beneficial for Sakho, as it would bring forth an opportunity to regain his form and fitness.
