Man City Plot Last-Ditch Move To Hijack Real Madrid’s World Record £161M Deal For Monaco Wonder-Kid Kylian Mbappe
Guardiola has made it clear that he wants more firepower up front and Man City have plot an 11th hour move to hijack Mbappe from under the noses of Real Madrid.
Earlier, Monaco had made it clear that they do not want to sell Mbappe this summer and had released a statement condemning several top-flight European clubs for illegally approaching Kylian Mbappe and his entourage.
SkySports claimed that Monaco’s complaints relate to moves from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
But Man City are still interested in Mbappe, who guided Monaco to Ligue 1 triumph and also to the semi-final of the Champions League – with26 goals to his name in all competitions.
Mbappe’s incredible form for Monaco has also earned him a place in the France national team and he has left no stone unturned to prove his mettle in the international circuit as well.
La Liga giants Real Madrid are confident of roping in Monaco teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe for a world-record £161million transfer fee.
Real have offloaded players to make about £110m in transfers this year, and are in a comfortable position to rope in the French striker.
Real Madrid bosses have been negotiating a deal for the past month and now they have agreed terms with the Ligue 1 club and the French striker, according to reports.
But Ligue 1 champions AS Monaco claimed yesterday that no deal has been agreed.
And now Man City are all set to hijack the 18-year-old talent if his switch to Real Madrid is not finalised.
However, it is believed that the Man City bosses would face an uphill task in persuading the youngster to snub a move to Madrid.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos superstar has confirmed that he will stay, despite huge interest from former club Manchester United.
He said: “To win important trophies with my club and the personal honours last season was brilliant.”
“To do it again would be nice.”
