Sturridge, Origi In Trouble: Liverpool Launch £30m Bid For Gremio Star Luan

Gremio forward LuanPremier League side Liverpool have launched a £30m bid for Gremio forward Luan, according to foottheball sources.

The news comes in as huge blow for the current strikers in the Liverpool squad. After offloading Benteke to Crystal Palace, Klopp chose to put Roberto Firmino up front in the 1-1 draw against Spurs, despite having Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge on the bench.

Luan played an important role for Brazil at the Rio Olympics 2006 this summer and guided his team to clinch the gold medal in men’s football. The Brazilian media reported that the Reds are in pole position to sign the striker despite huge interest from Premier League giants Manchester United.

Earlier, last week Gremio vice-president Alberto Guerra declared that the club would be interested in analysing any offer that comes in for Luan.

“Every good player is targeted. If a proposal arrives, we will analyse,” he insisted.

Gremio forward LuanPundits believe that Liverpool might find it difficult to bring Luan to Anfield, as Gremio only own 70 per cent of the player’s economic rights.

The 24-year-old striker has displayed incredible form at Gremino, with 38 goals to his name from 147 appearances since joining the side in 2014.

Sturridge has not been the main man for Liverpool in the new Premier League season and has only featured for an hour or more in Liverpool’s first three league matches in the new season. The Englisg striker started in Liverpool’s 2-0 loss to Burnley and looked out of shape.

Meanwhile, Origi has been handed 3 substitute appearances in Liverpool’s new season – which might be looked upon as average start with one win, followed by a shock defeat to Burnley before a 1-1 draw with Spurs.
