Arsenal Place Hoffenheim’s Alexander Rosen On Their Shortlist For Director Of Football Role
Premier League giants Arsenal have identified Hoffenheim’s Alexander Rosen as they continue their hunt for a director of football.
The Gunners are keen on securing the services of sporting director Rosen, 37, who has played a pivotal role in Hoffenheim’s incredible success this term.
Nagelsmann had anchored Hoffenheim to safety last year and this time around he has led the German side to their best ever finish in the Bundesliga.
Hoffenheim haved clinched a plac in the Champions League play-off for the first time on Sunday and it seems that if they manage to hold on to the third place in the Bundesliga table – the German side will be guaranteed a group stage spot.
Rosen has also proved his mettle in the transfer market and has earned a reputation of doing good business – both while signing or offloading any player – like garnering a £26m profit when selling Roberto Firmino to Liverpool in 2015.
Despite Wenger’s resistance, the Arsenal hierarchy are now desperately searching for what would be their first ever director of football.
Arsenal have also identified former Gunners winger Marc Overmars, now director of football at Ajax, and Borussia Dortmund’s Michael Zorc as they look to appoint their first ever director of football from the next season on wards.
