Sevilla Are Dangerous, But Juventus Can Get A Good Result, Claims Confident Allegri
Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has said that Sevilla will be a tough test, but one for which his team are ready.
Sevilla have been in phenomenal form in the UEFA Champions League this season, having not conceding a single goal in the group stages till now.
The teams played a 0-0 draw in the Group H opener back in September, and are both expected to progress from the group stage.
This is the second year running that both the clubs have been drawn in the same group – however, Allegri’s Juventus will miss Gonzalo Higuain and Medhi Benatia due to injuries.
“The only result that guarantees our place in the last 16 is a win. I’m confident we can get a positive result,” Allegri said on Monday.
“We must win one of our last two group matches to qualify. We want the job done tomorrow.”
“We’re coming up against a side that is yet to concede in the Champions League and is dangerous on the break.”
“We played very well here last season and conceded from one of few attempts on our goal.”
Spanish giants Barcelona are the only team to have beaten Sevilla at home this season, however Juventus have been in red-hot form in the domestic league, with their only domestic loses coming at the San Siro against Inter and AC Milan.
Allegri also said that teenage sensation Moise Kean might get a chance to shine in the Champions League clash, “Higuain took a knock to the thigh and it would have been an unnecessary risk bringing him with us,” he said. “Stefano Sturaro, Alex Sandro and Kean all have the quality to step up into one of the forward positions.”
Kean became the first player to be after 2000 to have featured in a Serie A match – after coming on as a substitute in the Bianconeri’s 3-0 win over Pescara on Saturday.
