Everton Fans Deserve Better But Ronald Koeman Has My Support – Chairman

Everton chairman Farhad Moshiri is very much confident that Ronald Koeman can turn the tables round despite a disastrous start to the season.

Everton lost 1-0 to Burnely at Goodison Park on Sunday – and this was Koeman’s fourth defeat in the league this season – leaving them in 16th place after seven games.

The Toffees have also failed in Europe so far – having managed to clinch just one point from Europa League matches against Atalanta and Apollon Limassol.

The likes of Wayne Rooney have struggled to make an impression this season

Everton’ disappointing run of results sparked rumours that Koeman could be the next Premier League manager to be sacked this term, but Moshiri made it clear that the Dutchman will be given time to turn their form around after having finished seventh in the league table last term.

“We are in a bad moment,” Moshiri told Sky Sports.

Big money was spent on stars including Gylfi Sigurdsson

“But we have played the four title contenders, three away. [Burnley] was an unexpected loss. The four pre-qualifying UEFA games and two group games on Thursdays haven’t helped. There is mental and physical fatigue and seven injuries.”

“These are early days. Koeman has my total support. We have great fans and they deserve better.”

“We know the honest and objective expectations of our supporters and will not let them down.”

Everton are just two points ahead of the relegation zone as they go into the international break and will resume Premier League duties with a trip to Brighton & Hove Albion on October 15 and host Arsenal in the following week.
