Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann said that his team’s dressing room was silent after they were beaten by Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Milan.
The two Spanish giants met in the Champions League final for the second time in three years with Real coming out as victors on both the occasions.
The two city rivals played a 1-1 draw in the initial 90 minutes and neither team could score in the extra-time, but Real Madrid claimed victory with a 5-3 score on penalties.
Griezmann also missed a penalty in the second half, when his shot hit the crossbar, but he has claimed that he is “not sorry” for missing the spot-kick.
“Diego Simeone didn’t say much. The truth is that no-one wanted to talk. We were all silent. These are difficult times, but you have to forget them as quickly as possible,” Griezmann told reporters. “I’m not sorry for the penalty miss. I put it where I wanted to and missed by centimeters.”
Griezmann also said he was looking forward to playing in the EUROs.
