Spanish super-club Barcelona have turned down the opportunity to sign Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne.
Barcelona are in the market to replace Dani Alves, who signed for Juventus last week and Clyne was reported to be the perfect fit for the Catalan giants.
Liverpool took advantage of the situation and tried to offload the 25-year old to Camp Nou, only to be rejected by Barca.
Though the Spanish club is surrounded by financial instabilities and the reigining La Liga champions are at the risk of losing their biggest assest Lionel Messi, after the Argentine superstar was found guilty of tax evasion by Spanish courts.
English giants Chelsea are heavily linked with the 29-year superstar who is reportedly un-happy with the club, as he feels the club didn’t support him enough during his trial.

Barcelona are desperate to find a replacement for Alves, who spent 8 glorious years at Camp Nou winning six La Liga titles and 3 Champions League medal.
Alves said that he chose to move to Turin in order to help the Italian giants realize their dream of winning the Champions League, after a 20 year gap.
“It’s a real honour to be here. I chose Juventus because the club has a great dream that I want to help make a reality. I know Juve have not won the Champions League for a long time and they want to combine their great domestic success with a European crown.” Alves told the Juventus official website.
Barcelona had identified Arsenal hot-shot Hector Bellerin as the ideal replacement for the 33-year old Alves, but their dreams were shot down by Arsene Wenger, when he gave the 21-year old a new contract.
After which Barcelona set their sight on Clyne, but the deal fell-out after Barca offered Neymar a new contract, which led to financial instability.
However, this could mean good news for January signing Aleix Vidal, as the defender could be in for a long-run in the first-team as Alves’ replacement.
