Giroud Open To Offers From China But Only After Winning Premier League With Arsenal

Published on:

Gunners ace Olivier Giroud has revealed that he would be interested in listening to offers form China but only when he guides Arsenal to Premier League title triumph.

This season we have already seen Oscar and Tevez moving to the cash-rich Chinese Super League and recent rumours claim that more players are set to follow their footsteps – with Axel Witsel leading the list of potential candidates.

Chelsea superstar Diego Costa has also been linked with an astronomical offer form China. Chinese Super League club Tianjin Quanjian are ready to offer Diego Costa a whooping wage packet of £30million a year and sources claim that the Spanish striker could make a move to China after the end of this season.

Reports claim that Man City star Yaya Toure and Spurs ace Dele Alli has recently snubbed mega-money moves from China.

Giroud accentuated that he knows the reason why some players are tempted to move to China and he didn’t rule out a move to the Chinese Super League in the future.

But for the time being, the French striker is completely focused on winning more titles for Arsenal after recently signing a new deal with the North London club.

Giroud said: “If you ask me if I would like to go now, I would tell you no.”

“I still want to play in the Premier League. I am happy here. This is my club and I want to win more trophies with this club.”

“The Premier League is my main target. After I have won it, maybe one day, you never know.”

“I am still young and I have ambition. And my ambition is to win the Premier League and to play at least two or three more years.”

Giroud’s comments broke in right after a limit was set on the maximum number of foreign players that the Chinese Super League clubs can use in a game ahead of the new season.

According to the latest guidelines, the CSL clubs can use only three overseas players in a game. Earlier, they had the provision of using five foreign players in a game, the Chinese FA confirmed in a statement on Monday.
