Serie A club Inter Milan are keen on roping in Spurs central-defender Jan Vertonghen, and are set to offer midfielder Marcelo Brozovic as a part of a swap deal.
New Inter Milan boss Frank De Boer had previously enjoyed a successful spell with Vertonghen during their time at Dutch big guns Ajax. Foottheball sources confirm that De Boer is keen on pairing with the player and wants to lure him away to Italy this summer.
The central-midfielder had joined Tottenham Hostspur from Ajax, back in the year 2012. Vertonghen has played a pivotal role in Tottenham’s success in the recent years and has earned huge accolades due to his incredible form over the years.
Last season, the player was paired with his international compatriot Toby Alderweireld to anchor the Spurs defense, but his impressive display came to a sudden halt due to an injury.
After regaining full match fitness, Vertonghen was on International duty for Belgium at Euro 2016, where he pulled up a further injury during the competition. A speedy recovery helped him to feature in Tottenham’s league opener against Everton, which ended in a 1-1 draw. It is believed that he needs more time to regain complete fitness as he looked a bit out of shape in the league opener against the Merseyside club.
