Jose Mourinho watched on as the burglar was caught

It has been revealed that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho watched on helplessly as a burglar attempted to break into his London home.

When Jose was watching the Euro 2016 final between Portugal – France, the 25 year old intruder tried to force the basement door to the £25million house.

A Portuguese maid came face-to-face with Gabor Roman who asked him: What are you doing here?”

The maid was doing the ironing when she spotted the intruder trying to get in through the basement door, she later revealed to police

Upon raising an alarm, the manager alerted the police. The raider tried to flee but a security guard who had been tracking him blocked his path.

A proper team of 8 police officers dashed to the central London house and led the intruder away in handcuffs as Manchester United manager Mourinho and wife Matilde Faria watched from a window.

A passer-by said: “Jose looked dumbfounded. I don’t think it had registered with the guy he was trying to burgle the house of the world’s most famous football coach.”

Roman, was jailed for four weeks by Westminster magistrates on Tuesday after admitting attempted burglary, he was from Eastern Europe, and he don’t have any fixed address as well.

A private security guard hired by residents first spotted Roman wandering from house to house trying doors to see if they were unlocked.

When the guard watched him disappear into Mourinho’s basement, he alerted the police.

It is believed that Roman initially made threats to punch the guard who stood his ground – but then smoked a cigarette until police officers arrived.

The attempted break-in took place hours after Mourinho had been at Wimbledon to see Andy Murray beat Milos Raonic.
