Leeds Utd vs Spurs preview

It all comes down to the final day. The UEFA Champions League qualification race is decided. The Champion has been crowned. However, uncertainty looms over two things- Who gets in Europe via the Conference League, and who gets relegated. In those two storylines, these two clubs- Leeds United and Spurs, are protagonists.

Sam Allardyce’s relegation record is under threat as Leeds are favourites to go down along with Leicester City on the final day of the season. Premier League relegation prediction and permutations don’t favour their chances at all.

On the other hand, Tottenham’s campaign has gone completely off the rails after some initial optimism under Ryan Mason. Their European destiny is now out of their hands. The best they can do is win and hope other results fall in their favour so they can sneak into 7th place.

Therefore, with both clubs needing a win and win only, it promises to be an exciting clash where both teams will go hell for leather to try and get a win.

Here’s the Leeds United vs Spurs prediction, team news, lineups, and more-

Leeds Utd vs Spurs lineups

Leeds Utd predicted lineup

Sam Allardyce was already struggling with a Leeds United squad hampered by injuries and his worries deepened against West Ham when Rodrigo and Patrick Bamford had ankle and thigh issues respectively. They are doubtful for this one.

In goal, Joel Robles has supplanted Illan Meslier as the first choice and will continue here. Junior Firpo will return from his suspension and go straight in at left-back. Rasmus Kristensen and Maximilian Wober are Sam Allardyce’s preferred pairing in defence and should continue here. Luke Ayling is the ever-present option at right-back.

Robin Koch and Weston McKennie are the two first names on the teamsheet under Sam Allardyce and that shouldn’t change. It’s a toss-up between Adam Forshaw and Marc Roca for the third spot which Forshaw looks to be winning.

Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo are doubts but considering the stakes of this fixture, it is unlikely they don’t declare themselves fit for this game. Jack Harrison will complete the trio in the attack for The Peacocks.

Predicted Leeds Utd lineup: Robles, Ayling, Kristensen, Wober, Firpo, Forshaw, Koch, McKennie, Harrison, Rodrigo, Bamford

Spurs predicted lineup

Ryan Mason is flipping between formations and players to find the winning formula, but to no avail so far. They’ve lost their last two games to Aston Villa and at home to Brentford. However, some respite could be coming in the form of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s return after he missed the Brentford game.

Fraser Forster will start in goal as Hugo Lloris’ injury continues to keep him out, probably having already played his last game for the club.

Cristian Romero is absent for a second consecutive game so Davinson Sanchez should continue in the side in a back-three formation, with Clement Lenglet and Emerson partnering with him.

Hojbjerg’s return should also mean Ryan Mason has his first-choice midfield back by pairing the Danish midfielder with Oliver Skipp.

Pedro Porro and Ben Davies will provide the width from the wing-back position as the attacking trio picks itself- Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, and Richarlison. Dejan Kulusevski didn’t cover himself in glory against Brentford so he drops out.

Predicted Spurs lineup: Forster, Lenglet, Sanchez, Emerson, Porro, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Davies, Richarlison, Son, Kane.

Leeds United vs Spurs prediction

Elland Road will have a rabid atmosphere as the fans will spur their team on to a win that will keep their flickering hopes of survival alive. Tottenham are in free fall with Harry Kane looking the only player who hasn’t been affected by the malaise yet.

The mentality of Spurs’ players has been questioned several times this season and there are not many places tougher to go to than a full Elland Road fighting for its PL future.

It could be a case of Leeds United crippling Spurs’ chances of creeping up the table by condemning them to a loss while going down themselves despite a win.
