20-year old wonder-kid Leroy Sane has officially asked to be transfer listed.
Sane is being eyed by a host of top European biggies with Manchester City tipped as the favourites to land him.
Schalke manager Christian Heidel confirmed on Tuesday that the player had asked to leave this summer, adding that his wish was granted by club hierarchy.
German giants Bayern Munich were also linked with the winger, but new boss Carlo Ancelotti ruled out any possibility of a move materialising.
Sane has 4 caps for the German national team, having received his first senior call up to the national team on 6 November 2015 in a friendly against France.
Manchester City had seen their advances rejected by Schalke up-till now, but with the latest developments Pep Guardiola’s side will be looking to take advantage of the situation quickly.
