Transfer News: Arsenal Joins The Race To Sign Everton Striker Romelu Lukaku This Summer

Former Chelsea striker Romelu Lukakau has been under the radar of top European clubs this summer but recent reports confirm that Arsenal are one of the favourites to sign the Belgian forward. It is believed that the news broke in after the Gunners failed to secure the services of the Leicester star Jamie Vardy despite triggering a £20m buy-out-clause and pitching in a four-year contract.

FootTheBall sources confirms that both Arsenal and PSG have held talks with Everton for securing the securing the services of the Everton striker this summer.

Both Arsenal and PSG have a spot in the upcoming Champions League next season and can meet Lukaku’s demands and expectations as Lukaku had ealier told in March that the 2016/17 season will be very important in his career.

Big guns like Juventus and Manchester United had also showed interest in the striker on various occasions over the last few months. Earlier the Blues wanted to re-sign Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge in the upcoming transfer window.

Chelsea had earlier sold the striker to Everton for a whooping amount of £28 million in 2014 before he spent a successful season on loan at Goodison Park.

Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku got better in his game and gradually evolved to become a first class striker since he joined the Toffees back in 2013. The 23-year old forward has since scored 61 goals in 127 appearances with 18 of them in the recently concluded Premier League season.

Football Critics believe that the Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku is not only a poacher or a shadow striker but offers an all-round package to increase the depth of the squad. Arsene Wenger is well aware of the lack of fire power at the front and is keen on bringing the technically gifted striker to Emirates this summer despite having Oliver Giroud in the squad.

Alvaro Morata

Arsenal also have their eye on Spanish striker Alvaro Morata but whether the Spanish giants Real Madrid will buy him back from Juventus to further list him for sale, has completed the situation this summer.

FootTheBall sources have revealed that the Gunners are ready to offer a bid in the region of £31m for signing Lukakau this summer but doubts still persists whether Everton will agree to let go off his services for only a profit of £3m as they had paid £28m to Chelsea back in 2014 to bring him to Goodison Park.
