Andreas Christensen Will Return To Chelsea As Blues Receive Defensive Boost

Chelsea have received a major boost as their loaned-out star Andreas Christensen will return to the club.

Christensen is currently at Borussia Monchengladbach having signed a two-year loan deal under Jose Mourinho’s reign at the club.

The Danish star has been very impressive during his time in the Bundesliga and has German club were keen to make him a permanent signing.

However, Gladbach have now conceded defeat in their pursuit to keep hold of the star while they are also set to lost star midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud to Borussia Dortmund.

“He must go back to Chelsea,” sporting director Max Eberl said, according to Kicker. “Those are the two players [Dahoud and Christensen] that we have to replace in the summer.”

“There are no others. And we don’t want any others [to leave us].”

Chelsea have been rock solid at the back ever since manager Antonio Conte implemented his three-man defence system.

Meanwhile, club legend John Terry will be out-of-contract at the end of the current season and no new deal is in the pipeline for him – while Kurt Zouma is yet to regain his place in the starting eleven since returning from injury.

Nathan Ake, who was recalled from a loan spell from Bournemouth is also struggling for game-time but he is seen as part of Conte’s long-term plan.
