Many clubs had shown interest in Arturo Vidal, 28, to secure his service in the ongoing transfer window. Arsenal and Manchester United were at loggerheads for signing the Chilean midfielder this summer.
Louis Van Gall has earlier expressed that he is a big fan of Vidal and the way he plays. Vidal was one of his main transfer targets this season as he wanted to bolster the midfield.
However Chilean newspaper La Stampa has reported that Arsenal has signed Vidal for £21m. It claimed that the transfer will be officially announced after the conclusion of the ongoing Copa America 2015 in Chile.

Vidal made his debut for Juventus in 2011 after arriving from Bayer Leverkusen. He tasted instant success in the club and in four seasons, the Chilean legend played a quintessential role behind winning four back to back Serie A title. Vidal exhibited top notch form in the Coppa Italia and anchored the midfield to help his club clinch the title. However he was denied a treble as Barcelona defeated Juventus in the Champions League final.

With Juventus already signing Sami Khedira in this transfer window, it looked obvious that they would sell players to buy their next target. According to reports the Italian club would use the cash in striking a deal for Bayern Munich’s Mehdi Benatia to further strengthen the defence.
