Arsenal will demand at least £30m from league rivals Manchester City for contract rebel Alezis Sanchez in January as Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has made it clear that they will not lower the asking price.
The Chilean has entered the final ten months of his contract with the Gunners and it is understood that the former Barcelona player will not put pen to paper on a new deal at Arsenal.
Sources close to the player revealed that Sanchez has made up his mind and will not stay at Arsenal. The Chilean is desperate to move to Man City either in the January transfer window.
Man City are confident of roping in Sanchez despite having failing to land him on a mega £60m bid on deadline day as Arsenal refused to sell their key player after transfer target Thomas Lemar turned down a £90m move to the Emirates.
Wenger is not willing to allow the Chilean to join a league rival, but the Frenchman has accepted the reality that Sanchez will not stay put at the Emirates.
Man City are not willing to spend anything more than £20m on the Chilean, who will be out of contract next summer.
An Etihad source told The Sun: “Arsenal are not blinking yet on Alexis. We will only pay £20m for him in January.
“Arsenal are still sending the message that they want over £30m. Something has to give either way.
“Pep thinks he could prove the difference between Premier and Champions League success and failure.
Sources reveal that Sanchez wants to reunite with former boss Pep Guardiola at Man City despite being heavily linked with moves to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain and La Liga champions Real Madrid.
