When Barcelona lifted their 3rd UEFA Champions league trophy , it was not just a record for the club but also for their Brazilian right-back Dani Alves. He equalled the Brazilian maestro and arguably the greatest footballer ever, Pele.

The flamboyant Brazilian matched Pele’s trophy haul with the Champions League win. When Alves picked up his  winner’s medal, he  drew level with Pele as the most decorated Brazilian footballer of all time.

Pele won three World Cups, one North American League with Cosmos and 24 trophies with Santos. And with Saturday’s Champions league haul, Alves caught up with the legend to go with the five he won at Sevilla, 3 trophies won with Brazil, and the Copa do Nordeste won with Bahia FC in 2002.

Lionel Messi has said that Dani Alves is the best right back in the world, it sure must be a reason for Ed Woodward to make him a Manchester United player after his last game for Barcelona in Saturday night’s Champions League final.

But reports suggest that Alves is interested to move to Italy, though Barcelona has made him an offer to renew his contract
