Spanish club FC Barcelona vice president Jordi Mestre has asked Brazilian left back Dani Alves to make a “quick” decision regarding his future with the team, and to respond to the offer on the renewal of his contract for next season.
Alves’s contract with Barcelona will expire on June 30. However, the player has yet to calrify his future with Barcelona, hinting at a possible departure, when he said that that he did not know for how long his “dream” with Barcelona would last, reports Efe.
Mestre noted on Monday that the club has made it clear that it wants Alves to stay, given the renewal offer, but affirmed that it would be the club’s final offer to the Brazilian, who has the final word and has been urged to decide quickly on the matter.
As for the future of coach Luis Enrique Martinez, Mestre said that he led the team to a treble-trphy winning campaign (La Liga, Copa Del Rey and the Champions League), so there was no reason to discuss his position, and that there was no problem with him.
