Cristiano Ronaldo has made a slow start in La Liga this season and Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi reportedly knows what is troubling the Real Madrid hit-man.

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored just once in La Liga

Ronaldo has six goals to his name in the Champions League so far, but the Portugal skipper has struggled to find form in the La Liga this season – with just one goal to his name in 6 appearances.

Ronaldo could not feature in Real Madrid’s opening four La Liga games this season after picking up a suspension in the first-leg of the Spanish Super Cup win over arch-rivals Barcelona.

But when he returned to action, Real Madrid suffered a shock 1-0 defeat against Real Betis.

Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo must work together to overturn Real Madrid’s form

The Los Blancos endured their worst nightmare as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against minnows Girona last weekend followed by a demoralising 1-0 loss to Tottenham in the Champions League on Tuesday – piling up huge pressure on Zinedine Zidane.

The Los Blancos are now eight points behind current league leaders Barcelona.

Barcelona have made an incredible start to the season and are enjoying a perfect record in La Liga – with Lionel Messi in red-hot form – with 12 goals to his name in 10 games.

And according to reports, Messi knows the reason behind Ronaldo’s poor form this season.

Diario Gol claim that in reality Roanldo is not happy that Real Madrid are not offering him a contract renewal despite the Portugal skipper publicly stating that he does not want to renew his contract with the Los Blancos.

The report also claims that Roanldo is upset because he wants to be in the same wage bracket that Lionel Messi takes home at Barcelona.

Roanldo pipped Messi to win the 2017’s Best FIFA Men’s Player award and is also the favourite to take home this year’s Ballon d’Or.

And now the former Man Utd player is hoping to get on the score-sheet when Real Madrid host Las Palmas on Sunday.
