Lionel Messi has been left shocked after being informed that Real Madrid want to hijack Barcelona’s move for Antoine Griezmann.
The Catalan giants are in pole position to sign Griezmann, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.
Manchester United, who missed out on the French striker in the summer are also in the race to sign the Atletico star, but recent reports claim that Jose Mourinho has dropped his interest in Griezmann and instead has made Juventus forward Paulo Dybala his top transfer target.
Barcelona are closing in on agreeing a transfer with Griezmann, who reportedly wants to make a switch the Nou Camp and not United.
However, Spanish outlet Diario Gol claims that Real Madrid are ready to hijack Barcelona’s move for the Atletico striker – and this has left Messi stunned.
The Argentine magician has been informed about Real Madrid’s interest in Griezmann.
The Los Blancos president Florentino Perez wants to disturb Barcelona’s transfer plans after the Catalan giants recently humiliated Real Madrid 3-0 in El Clasico.
And Perez wants to take revenge by signing Griezmann ahead of their arch rivals.
According to Diario Gol, Perez has informed the French striker that they can offer him a higher wage packet than Barcelona and has also promised to make him the club’s main man.
Real superstar has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season unless the Los Blancos bosses offer him a whooping new deal.
And now it is being said that Griezmann could take his place in the Los Blancos squad.
