Barcelona have made Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann their top transfer target for next summer but will simultaneously try to convince Liverpool to sell Brazilian attacker Philippe Coutinho.
Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann’s release clause is now set to come down to £89million on July 1, according to Mundo Deportivo.
And now the Barcelona bosses are eyeing to reach an agreement with Atletico over Griezmann’s move to the Nou Camp before the start of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Griezmann was heavily linked with a move away to Premier League giants Manchester United during the summer but the French striker opted to sign a one-year contract extension with Atletico and Mourinho roped in Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
But according to recent reports, Barcelona have now identified Griezmann as their top transfer target for next summer.
Neymar made a world-record switch to PSG from Barcelona and the Catalans failed to bring in a big-name signing despite splurging £135m on Borussia Dortmund youngster Osumane Dembele.
And now it is being reported that Griezmann tops Barcelona’s shopping list, along with a number other players, who are being linked with moves to the Nou Camp next summer.
Some reports claim that Tottenham Hotspur superstar Dele Alli is also on Barca’s radar, while Manchester United winger Anthony Martial has also been linked with a move to the La Liga club.
On the contrary some reports claim that Barcelona are still interested in Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho .
Barcelona were desperate to sign Coutinho over the summer but despite repeated attempts the La Liga giants failed to convince the Reds to sell their most prized asset.
The Brazilian had handed in an official transfer request but Liverpool turned down Barcelona’s three back-to-back bids for Coutinho and he ended up remaining at Anfield and has now displayed incredible form for the Premier League club – with three goals to his name in as many games.
FootTheBall sources have revealed that Barcelona are still keen on roping in the Brazilian next summer and not in January as Coutinho will not be able to play for them in the Champions League, having played for Liverpool in their opening two games in the European top-flight competition.
