Chelsea and Arsenal set to renew interest in Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller in January

The German star was linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea all had monitored his availability as they wanted to add more firepower to their squad before the season got into full swing.

But the Bundesliga club were not willing to sell the Germany international.

Muller has found life difficult at Bayern last season – with just five league goals to his name in 29 appearances.

Muller is not happy with life at Bayern

He went down the pecking order under boss Carlo Ancelotti, who prefers to put Thiago behind superstar striker Robert Lewandowski.

And according to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal and Chelsea are ready to offer Muller an escape route in the upcoming transfer window in January.

Wenger failed to impress the Gunners fans as he endured a frustrating transfer window – managing to sign just two new players – Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac.

Alexis Sanchez could join Man City in January, and Wenger has identified Muller as a direct replacement up-front.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is also searching for a replacement for AWOL striker Diego Costa and sources reveal that the former Juve manager has his eyes on Muller.
