Danny Rose Fuming With Pochettino Over North London Derby Snub As Man Utd Eye Move
Danny Rose is angry after being dropped from the Spurs squad that lost against Arsenal in the North London derby on Saturday.
The Three Lions left-back believes that he was fully fit and ready for the game and disagrees with Spurs boss Pochettino, who said that the player was ready to face bitter rivals Arsenal.
Rose was asked to train at Tottenham’s Enfield HQ on Saturday instead of being included in the squad to face Arsenal.
Rose had earlier hinted that he wants to part ways with Spurs, with Man Utd willing to include unsettled star Luke Shaw as a part of the deal for the Three Lions defender.
Rose is not happy with life at Spurs due to lack of game-time as he wants to make sure that he seals a place in the Three Lions squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
However, Pochettino rubbished claims of a bust-up with Rose, saying that the England star has just returned after a ten-month injury absence and has to keep working on his fitness to regain match sharpness.
After succumbing to a 2-0 defeat against Arsenal, Pochettino said: “If we had won 2-0, nobody would ever have asked me about Danny Rose.
“Remember, we played without Danny for ten months, so we need to build up his fitness and for this game we decided it would be better for him to train rather than be on the bench.
“I am an honest person and I am not happy about this. It’s not good a situation is made when it is not an issue.”
