Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti has confirmed that Manchester United have not followed up on talks over a transfer move for Ivan Perisic.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is keen on adding more reinforcements as he eyes to challenge for the Premier League title this season.
The Portuguese boss is desperately searching for a wide midfielder and has been linked with a move for Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic.
Earlier, FootTheBall had reported that Manchester United have launched a £44million transfer move for Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic, who is keen to make a switch to Old Trafford this summer.
Man Utd’s pursuit of Perisic had been dealt a blow as Inter are holding out for a £50million fee and had also demanded Anthony Martial to be a part of the deal for the Croatian star.
But now, Inter boss Spalletti has accentuated that there is no chance of the move going through with the Red Devils not following up on transfer talks for the 28-year-old Croatian star.
“Until now, there hasn’t been any important contact,” the Inter boss said.
“There was something you already know about at the beginning of the window [but] there was no follow-up and so, for me, the topic is over.”
“It’s true as time goes by, it becomes more and more difficult to replace him with another player.”
“I will strongly oppose the sale of Perisic if an offer comes.”
Man Utd had earlier showed huge interest in Eric Dier but the Spurs bosses made it clear that they do not want to sell any of their key players – pointing out particularly that they are not interested in listening to offers for the English midfielder.
Nemanja Matic is willing to move to Man Utd but Chelsea are reluctant to sell to a direct rival.
And now the Red Devils have been linked with a sensational move for Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale while RB Leipzig’s Emil Forsberg is another reported target.
