Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini has received a contract offer from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports in France.
Fellaini’s current contract with Man Utd will expire next summer and the Belgian is yet to sign a new deal.
Man Utd bosses are keen to tie him down on a new deal but the 30-year-old is yet to put pen to paper on fresh terms, and now the Red Devils face the risk of losing him for free next summer.
The Belgian midfielder has been linked with a move to Turkey in recent times. Serie A club Inter Milan have also shown huge interest in the Belgian and are monitoring the Belgian’s contract situation, who will be free to hold talks with other clubs in January.
But now, PSG have emerged as a shock candidate to rope in the services of the Belgian, with Le10 Sport claiming that the Ligue 1 club have already started talks with Fellaini and his representatives.
The report also claims that both the parties are yet to agree on the wage packet with PSG willing to offer Fellaini a four-year deal.
Felliani has turned 30 this month and it is understood that Man Utd would not be willing to make him a similar offer despite Jose Mourinho wanting to tie him down.
Man Utd bosses are holding talks with Fellaini and his agent but if they fail to agree in principle over a new deal, the Belgian will be free to start talks with overseas clubs from Janaury.
The French news outlet says that PSG have informed the Belgian that they are willing to sign him on a four-year deal.
It is said that PSG see Fellaini as perfect as cover for defensive midfielder Thiago Motta.
And the prospect of signing him for free sounds appetising to manager Unai Emery.
