Manchester City have secured the services of AS Monaco left back Benjamin Mendy as they continue to rebuild their club strength over the summer. The 22-year-old AS Monaco star costed about $44.6 million to the English side.
Pep Guardiola was handed a budget of $225 million to bring the team back on track. The board had a lot of expectation from Pep in his first season but he failed to live up to them. This might be his last season if he fails to lift a trophy.
The 22-year-old might prove to be an asset for Pep’s side. Surely as his form suggests he can prove to be a ‘pain in the a**’ for the attackers.
The prolific defender started his career with Le Harve in 2011 making 64 appearances with the club before moving to Marseille in 2013. He made a total of 101 appearances for the French side scoring 3 goals before moving to rival side AS Monaco in the beginning of 2016 season.
He was part of the title winning side contributing through his 4 goals and great defending.
The 22 year old was also called by the French side where he played 90 minutes against Luxembourg helping his side to a 3-1 victory.
The French defender has the qualities to become a top star but the question that remains is, will this man be able to help Pep save his job or will it the sky fall on the bald magician?
