Manchester United Ban Paul Pogba From Playing BASKETBALL To Prevent Any Further Hamstring Damage

Published on:

Manchester United have now banned Paul Pogba from playing basketball in order to prevent further hamstring injuries.

Manchester United staff are worried shooting some hoops could aggravate his injury

According to reports, Man Utd’s medical staff believes that Pogba’s obsession for basketball could increase Pogba’s hamstring problem.

Man Utd fear that Pogba could pick muscle strain or could suffer due to stress impact on his knees and ankles if he continues playing basketball during his leisure hours.

Pogba is a huge NBA fan and keeps on slam dunking outside of team training and it is believed that this is one of the causes behind his serious hamstring injury which could keep him out until December.

Last summer, Pogba had uploaded a video on Instagram of him winning a one-on-one with Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid.

Pogba uses a personal trainer, who is not associated with the Old Trafford staff and this has also raised eyebrows on the suitability of his fitness routines away from the club.

Paul Pogba is continuing his injury rehabilitation with some ‘Bruce Lee style’ exercises.

The Manchester United midfielder picked up a hamstring injury against Basel earlier this month.

Initial fears over a serious problem were allayed but Jose Mourinho has since described the injury as long-term.

But Pogba is continuing his recovery at Carrington during the international break.

The Frenchman will be hoping to return soon

While team mates are on international duty, the French midfielder has jetted off to the US for treatment on the strain and has also been given a few days off.

Mourinho will be happy that Romelu Lukaku, who plays basketball with Pogba, has been given the all-clear on an ankle scan while on international duty.

Lukaku is on fire this season

Mourinho will have a sigh a relief after knowing that Romelu Lukaku, who plays basketball with Pogba, has been given all-clear on an ankle scan while on international duty.

A statement from the Belgium FA read: “Romelu Lukaku underwent an MRI scan but no fracture or structural damage has been diagnosed.

“The next days he will follow an individual training programme.”

“It is however too early to state that he won’t be match fit for the Bosnia and/or Cyprus game.”
