Gerard Pique has ended the rumours doing round about his future at Barcelona after claiming that he is happy at the Camp Nou.
Pique has been involved in a tussle with the La Liga authorities lately after alleging that the officials in Spain favour Real Madrid.
Gerard Pique is a product of the La Masia academy but left Barcelona for Manchester United in 2004, before returning in 2008 and has since established himself as one of world’s best.
Although, it had been reported lately that the 29-year-old will be leaving Catalonia after wife Shakira asked him to make a fresh start, but Pique has denied any such claims.
The Spain international has won almost every major trophy with the Blaugrana and the national team and has over 420 club appearances to his name.
When questioned about his future at the club he said, “To be honest, no I haven’t. I’m happy here, this is my lifelong club and I hope to end my playing career here”.”
Pique was than questioned about the possible arrivals at the club and he replied, “It’s [Technical Secretary] Robert’s [Fernandez] job to handle those kinds of things but great players are always received here with arms wide open.”
He was also asked questions about Lionel Messi and he replied, “Playing with Leo is amazing. And obviously, playing with the rest of my team mates is as well.”
When asked about who he is thinks is better in the Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi debate Pique said, “The question I always get asked – you already know the answer”.
