Real Madrid are ready to break the bank in a bid to lure Man City superstar Kevin de Bruyne to the Bernabeu, according to reports.
Man City continue to dominate the Premier League, having won 2-0 against Leicester City, all thanks to Gabriel Jesus, who opened the scoring for Guardiola’s side a minute before half-time before playmaker Kevin De Bruyne doubled the lead in the second half.
Guardiola’s side are in red-hot form this season, having won 11 of 12 league games – sitting top of the table with an eight-point lead over arch rivals Manchester United.
Man City have also won all four of their Champions League games so far to storm into the knockout stages with two games in hand.
Guardiola’s men have scored 40 goals in 12 Premier League and Belgian playmaker De Bruyne has played a pivotal role behind Man City’s success this season.
Apart from anchoring Man City’s midfield, De Bruyne has scored three goals and provided six assists so far this season.
And his red-hot form has caught the attention of La Liga giants Real Madrid.
According to Don Balon, Real Madrid want to secure the services of the Belgian and are ready to launch a mega bid next summer.
Real Madrid have made a poor start to the season and are already 10 points behind current league leaders Barcelona.
The Los Blancos also succumbed to an embarrassing 3-1 defeat to Tottenham in the Champions League.
Real Madrid offloaded star players in the summer including Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez. They roped in new players but mostly youngsters such as Dani Ceballos and Theo Hernandez.
Real president had changed his transfer policy of signing ‘Galactico’ stars but now he has seen enough and has grown frustrated with his club’s sloppy performances.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema are struggling to find form this season – both managing to score just one goal each in the La Liga, with Gareth Bale out of action after picking up another injury.
And now Perez has decided to rope in a big-name to get things back-on-track at the Bernabeu as he desperately want to overturn Real Madrid’s form.
Reports claim that Perez is a huge admirer of Man City star De Bruyne, who has emerged as a world-class talent under Pep Guardiola.
And now Real Madrid are ready to launch a bid of around £88.6m (€100m) for De Bruyne and they are confident of sealing a deal for the Belgian star as long as he has not signed a new deal at Man City.
However, De Bruyne put pen to paper on a six-year deal when he arrived at the Etihad in 2015 and recently hinted that he has made up his mind to extend his contract at City.
He said: “I see myself being a long time here.
“Since Pep came to the club, he plays a style of football I like to play, so it makes it easy as a player.
“I like it here, it is the perfect environment and since I came here there has been a lot of trust in me. I like the project they are doing from the moment I came here.”
