La Liga giants Barcelona have made contact with Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe, according to reports.
The Spanish club is desperately searching the market to sign a replacement for Neymar, who has completed a world-record £198million move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Neymar has officially completed his move to Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona.
The Brazilian superstar have signed a five-year contract worth £49m-per-year before tax.
After tax deductions, Neymar will take home a mammoth £520,000-a-week or £27m every year.
Arch rivals Real Madrid are in pole position to rope in the Monaco teenage sensation, but Barcelona are all set to use the huge amount of cash from Neymar’s sale to hijack the French forward from under the noses of the Los Blancos.
Monaco are not willing to lose another of their key players but it is understood that an offer in the region of £160m will force them to give it a second thought.
And according to L’Equipe, Barcelona have already started working to secure Mbappe’s signature, having held talks with his agent.
Mbappe has drawn huge attention and is under the radar of top-flight European clubs after displaying form last season.
The French teenage sensation guided Monaco to Ligue 1 triumph and also to the semi-final of the Champions League – with 26 goals to his name in all competitions.
Mbappe’s incredible form for Monaco has also earned him a place in the France national team and he has left no stone unturned to prove his mettle in the international circuit as well.
Premier League giants Manchester City are also set to plot a last-ditch bid to hijack Real Madrid’s world record £161million move for Kylian Mbappe.
Monaco want to tie down their prized asset and have offered him a new mega-deal but it looks increasingly likely that Mbappe wants to part ways with the Ligue 1 champions this summer.
