Chelsea Boss Conte Plotting August Swoops For Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sandro And Barkley
The Blues boss wants to bolster the ‘home-grown’ quota as clubs can include only 17 foreigners in a 25-member squad.
Chelsea have had shown huge interest in the Everton contract rebel Barkley over the course of the last few transfer windows.
Everton boss Koeman accentuated that the English attacking midfielder will be sold before the end of the summer transfer window.
Barkley was keen on making a move and had rejected a £100,000-a-week contract offer from Everton at the end of the last season.
Barkley’s journey with his boyhood was all but over when he did not respond to Everton’s ultimatum to extend his contract.
He has now entered into the final year of his current contract and finds himself unwanted at Goodison Park.
When asked whether Barkley would be on his way before the end of next month, Koeman said: “Yes. 100 per cent. I knew this already from the end of last season.”
“We made a really good offer to him to sign a new contract, he declined that contract and told me that he is looking for a new challenge.”
“Okay he is not in Everton’s future any more. It is his decision. I need to respect that and see what happens.”
“What I heard from the board at the moment is that there is no offer on the table for Ross.”
Barkley is currently recovering from a groin operation and Koeman said: “It will take three or four weeks to be back.”
Chelsea might face stiff competition from Tottenham Hotspur as Pochettino is desperate to rope in Barkley this summer.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, 23, has entered the final 12 months of his Gunners contract.
Arsenal are keen to tie him down to a new deal.
But, according to the Mirror, the English winger has turned down the Gunners’ final offer.
There is apparently a growing feeling at the Emirates that Oxlade-Chamberlain could be on his way out of the club.
The north London outfit could be tempted into selling Oxlade-Chamberlain rather than risk losing him for nothing next summer.
FootTheBall sources claim the Blues have already made contact with Arsenal over a deal to take him to Anfield.
Conte also wants to sign Juventus’ £70m-rated wing- back Alex Sandro this summer.
The Blues hierarchy are on the brink of agreeing a transfer fee with Serie A champions Juventus over a move for Brazilian left-back Sandro, following an increased offer of over £61m.
Although, the Bianconeri are desperate to keep hold of their star defender and might offer him a new contract to ward off interest from the filthy rich Brit giants.
But Conte is confident that an increased offer of £61m would convince the Juventus hierarchy to sell the Brazilian left-back.
