The Antonie Griezmann to Manchester United transfer saga goes on but the French striker has now hinted at a possible strike pairing with Alexandre Lacazette at Atletico Madrid in the new season.
Griezmann has been busy playing mind games with Manchester United in the recent weeks with his comments in the press.
At first the French superstar accentuated that there is a “six out of 10” chance of him moving to Old Trafford, before taking a major U-turn to reveal that he would like to win more trophies with Atletico Madrid.
The Atetico Madird hierarchy are not willing to sell their star player and his close bonding with a player highly linked with a move to the Spanish club has now forced the press to believe that he will snub a mega-money move to Man Utd and will stay put in the Spanish capital.
Lacazette has made it very clear that he wants to make a switch in order to compete for major trophies elsewhere.
He has proved his class in the last four seasons at Lyon – with a total of 113 goals to his name out of which he has netted 37 times in the 2016-17 campaign.
The 26-year-old French striker has been under the radar of Premier League clubs – with Arsenal and Liverpool keen on roping in him, but he has now expressed desire of a move to Atletico and recently admitted that Griezmann has been “trying for a while to get me to come”.
Atletico Madrid would certainly want to pair Lacazette up front with Griezmann in the 2017-18 campaign as they eye to make the first season at their new home a special one.
