Colombian star James Rodriguez will not leave the Spanish giants Real Madrid in the January transfer window, according to his agent Jorge Mendes.
James Rodriguez has lacked game time this season under Real Madrid boss Zidane and the Colombian attacking midfielder is keen on testing new waters.
James has gone down the pecking order in the Real Madrid lineup as Zidane favours Asensio over the Colombian midfielder. And now James is keen on making a move away from the La Liga club in search of game-time and a permanent role.
The Colombian star has been under the radar of top-flight clubs – which include Juventus, Chelsea and PSG.
Serie A giants Juventus have confirmed their interest in the talented attacking midfielder and are on the verge of launching a bid for the playmaker.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has also shown huge interest in the Colombian player and in another part of the globe, cash-rich Ligue 1 club PSG are also keen on securing his services.
But now James’ agent Mendes has insisted that the Colombian playmaker will not leave Real Madrid in the January transfer window.
Mendes said: “James will not be leaving Madrid in January.”
Earlier, after the Club World Cup win over Kashima Antlers in the final, James had vented out his frustration and hinted that he would leave the Spanish club in January.
James said: “I can’t assure I will stay at Real Madrid. I have offers and seven days left to think about my future.”
“I am happy in Madrid, but I want to play more. I have a bitter feeling as I wanted to play the final, but I am happy for the title. It’s the 15th title of my career.”
James had joined Real Madrid in 2014 and his current contract with the club expires in 2020. And it is believed that if he fails to make his way back into the first-team, he will definitely leave in the summer.
And now after Real Madrid’s transfer ban has been reduced, Zidane would like to cash in James and search the market for fresh talents in the summer.
