Liverpool Make Third £74.2M Bid For Keita As Midfielder Seemingly Grow Frustrated At Leipzig
Jurgen Klopp wants to bolster his squad as he is desperate to challenge for the Premier League title in the upcoming season.
Klopp is keen on roping in highly-rated midfielder Naby Keita this summer and had earlier seen a €65m (£57m) second bid for Keita rejected by Leipzig.
But Liverpool have now come back with an improved offer for Leipzig midfielder, according to German paper Bild.
Keita also grabbed the headlines on Monday after losing temper during the training session and it is believed that he is frustrated at not being allowed to make a move to Liverpool this summer.
The Guinea international committed a two-footed horror tackle on team-mate Diego Demma and Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhuttl had to cancel the training session.
The midfielder is believed to be desperate to make a switch to Liverpool, but the Bundesliga club are have made it clear that they do not want to sell their prized asset.
Demme was pictured hobbling from the pitch with the support of coaching staff and is said to have been taken to hospital in Innsbruck for assessment.
Leipzig boss was so angry with the uncalled for tackle that he stopped the practice session and order the team to head back to the hotel.
However later, Leipzig stated that the 25-year-old has not sustained any serious damage.
“Let off for Diego Demme. He suffered a bruised knee from a tackle in training, but his meniscus & ligaments are fine. Get well soon, Diego!” the Bundesliga club confirmed on Twitter.
There were also reports that the former Borussia Dortmund boss is ready to wait until the next summer transfer window to finally rope in Keita.
A clause in the midfielder’s current contract states that he can leave the club for £48m after 12 months.
But Leipzig sporting director Ralph Rangnick has accentuated that the club not sell any of their star players and are trying to convince Keita to sign a new contract.
Meanwhile, the midfielder’s social media activity has handed a huge boost to Liverpool fans.
Keiata took to Instagram on Sunday and followed Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, hinting at where he wants to play this summer.
