Yaya Toure Not Thinking About Leaving Man City Despite Entering Final Six Months Of His Contract

Yaya Toure revealed that he is not willing to leave Manchester City in the on-going January transfer window.

The Ivory Coast international has entered the final six months of his current contract with Man City, which gives him the freedom to contact other clubs.

Toure has been heavily linked with a bumper move to China, which could see him feature in the list of the highest earning footballers after recent big-money moves of Carlos Tevez and Oscar to the Chinese Super League last month.

Toure has endured a mixed start to this season. He was out of action in the earlier half due to difference of opinions with new boss Guardiola after his agent made controversial remarks about the Spanish manager.

However, after convincing Guardiola for a place in the team, Toure has impressed the City fans with back-to-back impressive performances.

And now the midfielder, who had joined Manchester City from Barcelona in 2010, has expressed his love for the club and insisted that he is not willing to leave and instead work harder to keep Man City in the mix for title challenge this season.

When asked whether he would contact other clubs, Toure said: “No, I won’t do that. My focus [is] on City, the future is there because for now the league is not finished.”

“Me and the guys are always focused. That’s the main point. I’m a footballer. I belong to the field. After that is difficult.”

“Chelsea are in a good way but we are going to fight until the end, make it difficult.”

Manchester City had made an incredible start to their season with a brilliant run of consecutive wins, but after a series of lack lustre performances in the last two months, Guardiola’s side looks completely out of shape.

Guardiola’s side are 7 points behind current league leaders Chelsea and two points behind second placed Liverpool. And Toure knows very well that they will have play their best game in order to stay in the title race.

Man City suffered a disappointing defeat against Liverpool during the New Year’s Eve but they got back to winning ways after earning a hard fought 2-1 win over Burnley on Monday.

Yaya ToureToure said: “At the moment, we are in not [playing our best] but we have to be able to deliver.”

“City have always been a team who fight to the end to win a trophy and at the moment we are not happy with the position in the league. We have to fight.”

“We are starting the second half of the season now and I think we will have to be almost perfect.”

“We’ll have to win all the games when we play the top four. The lads, the fans, the manager we are all understanding that and we will try to do our best to get there.”
