Man Utd Boss Jose Mourinho Issues Hands-Off Warning To Inter Milan Over Anthony Martial

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has made it clear that Anthony Martial is not leaving Old Trafford.

Anthony Martial is not heading for Inter Milan, says Jose Mourinho

That dashes Inter Milan’s hopes of roping in the Man Utd forward as a part of a deal that would see Ivan Perisic joining the Red Devils this summer.

And now Man Utd would have to splurge a £50million in a cash deal for the Croatian winger.

However, Inter Milan chief Piero Ausilio insists sought-after winger Ivan Perisic is not for sale.

Inter want Martial in a deal that would see Perisic join the Red Devils.

The Serie A giants are desperate to tie Perisic down to a new contract despite the 28-year-old’s desire to switch to Old Trafford.

Earlier, reports claimed that Martial had agreed to join the Serie A club as part of any Perisic deal.

But now negotiations have stalled with the clubs failing to agree in principle over a transfer fee.

Martial took a back step last season under Mourinho

Meanwhile, Mourinho is adamant and insisted that the Frenchman will be not sold, saying:

“Everybody’s in the plan — the plan is to have a good squad, not a good team, a good squad with options.”

“We need options and different players. Lukaku, Martial and Rashford are all different and we need everybody, and it’s going to be good.”

FootTheBall sources reveal that United had thought of offering Matteo Darmian as a part of a swap plus cash deal for Perisic – but are not willing to sell Martial, who is a huge fan favourite and is in Mourinho’s plans for the next season.

Martial arrived at Old Trafford from Monaco on a £36m deal (which can still go up to £58m) in 2015.

After a brilliant first term, he failed to impress last season and went down the pecking order under Mourinho last season – but still netted 8 goals in all competitions while playing mostly as a winger.

Mourinho had slammed Martial in January and told him to improve and to fight his way back into the first-team.

But later in April, the Portuguese boss heaped praise on the French forward and insisted that he has what it takes to become “very special” after his much improved performance against Anderlecht in the Europa League.
