Kylian Mbappe has demanded the same wages as Gareth Bale if he is to move to Real Madrid, according to reports.
The Monaco star has removed the Ligue 1 club from his Twitter bio amid rumours a move to the Bernabeu is imminent.
But it appears one of the stipulations the teenager is demanding is the same £300,000-a-week pay packet the Welshman currently receives.
Diario Gol say Mbappe is willing to be below only Cristiano Ronaldo in the money ranks.
And they claim that this is the biggest stumbling block between the France striker and a deal being agreed.
If not for the obvious reason that bringing in Mbappe on such a massive wage would be deemed an “affront” to the rest of the squad.
Paris Saint-Germain are also in for Mbappe and have tried to tempt him with a move to the French capital by offering £200,000 a week.
It is massive money for an 18-year-old but almost all of Europe’s biggest clubs appear to be willing to break the bank for the man who made history in the Champions League.
Real are trying to convince Mbappe that playing for the Champions League winners is the best way for his career to continue its stratospheric path.
Diario say Mbappe is not quite sure – and that he will only sign under certain circumstances.
One of those, in addition to the wage demands, is to become Cristiano Ronaldo’s natural successor.
Monaco had previously offered Mbappe a 900 per cent pay rise to £140,000 a week.
And not only is it football teams hungry for his signature.
Sportswear giants Nike and Adidas are also battling it out to get him on their books.
