Pochettino Planning £25m Bid For Crystal Palace Winger Wilfried Zaha

Published on:

Wilfried Zaha is being linked with Tottenham Hotspurs with just two days left in the winter transfer window.

The Crystal Palace winger is set to return from the African Nations Cup.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was eyeing the Ivory Coast international before he went for national duty.

Pochettino wants to sign the winger for £25 million as he prepares to go all guns blazing for a title charge.

Spurs have been without Eric Lamela since October with Harry Kane facing double pressure.

The 24-year-old Zaha would be a perfect addition to Spurs high-pressure attack line as they bid for Premier League and Europa League titles.

However, Crystal Palace are unlikely to sell their star man as Sam Allardyce looks to steady the ship and avoid relegation.

Palace are also plotting a contract extension with the player on his current deal that runs till 2020.

Zaha was a serious target for the White Hart Lane outfit up until he left for the Africa Nations Cup after switching allegiance from England to Ivory Coast.

However, his teams early departure from the tournament has meant that he is back and available for selection.

An approach so late in the transfer window could disrupt Palace’s chances of recruiting a replacement.

Pochettino is a huge admirer of the 24-year-old and was chasing him in the summer but Crystal Palace had out-rightly rejected any advances for the three lions star.

Tottenham Hotspurs had made three bids for the winger in the summer but the Eagles turned down each one of them.
