REVEALED: Man Utd Star Rooney Rejected Summer Move To Chinese Super League As He Wants To Fight For His Place

Manchester United superstar Wayne Rooney had rejected a switch to the cash-rich Chinese Super League in the last summer transfer window.

rooney-unitedChinese Super League club Beijing Guoan approached the English striker with a tempting offer and had even held talks with his agent Paul Stretford, the club’s honorary chairman claimed.

Luo Ning spoke to a Beijing radio station: “We indeed made an approach for Rooney at the beginning of the season but he’s informed us that he wants to stay in Manchester United.”

“Rooney says he’ll keep playing in the Premier League as long as his health allows. We even met with his agent.”

zlatan-with-rooneyRooney, whose current contract at Manchester United expires in 2019 and pockets £300k-a-week, was approached by Beijing Guoan in the last summer transfer window. But Rooney had no intentions to leave and he rejected the tempting offer from the Chinese Super League club.
